I've stated previously that I don't really make New Year's resolutions.  I just reassess my goals and vision and figure out what I accomplished the previous year and which goals I want to accomplish in the New Year.  I like to create a vision board as a visual reminder of the things that I want to do - land the job that I will truly enjoy (time to make my exit from the legal field?), make sure my health stays on track (#diabeticproblems), and do more of the things that make me happy.  I put places I want to go - New Orleans for a Saints home game is high on the list this Read More ...

Post image for New Year, New Goals

Happy 2014!  There's nothing like the beginning of a new year to make you take stock of your life and want to make some changes.  I don't make New Year's Resolutions, but I do sometimes reevaluate my goals in my personal life and blogging life.  I don't want to say, "I will work out at least 5 days a week" because (a) I know this would not happen every week and I don't want to feel bad for not having time to work out 5 days a week; and (b) this is a lifestyle change that would not have a finite end.  I like to set goals that I can Read More ...

Post image for Fan Invites Peyton Manning to Wedding

How awesome is this?  A fan recently sent a wedding invitation to Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.  Well, Peyton checked "Regretfully Decline," wrote "Best Wishes," and autographed it adding "18."  I don't think anyone can top this wedding gift!  Hmm…I wonder what would happen if I send Drew Brees an invitation to my next birthday party?

#Blogalicious5 Recap

Could you tell from my tweets and photos on Instagram that I had a great time at Blogalicious?  From the sessions and speakers to the Scandal party (I was too tired to make the McDonald's party unfortunately) to meeting other bloggers to hanging out with old blogger friends, it was everything that I needed at this moment in my blogging career.  The biggest takeaway from the conference for me didn't come from any one speaker or session.  It came from the entire experience.  And what is that takeaway, you ask?  I'll tell you – my blog has grown and I have grown as a blogger.  Wow.  I know, I know. Blogalicious 5 in Atlanta!

I'm currently packing for my trip to Atlanta for Blogalicious 5!  I'm so excited, because I missed Blogalicious last year in Las Vegas.  This will be my 3rd Blogalicious, so I feel like a pro/vet.  Regardless, I'm always pumped to get what I call "Continuing Blogger Education."  No matter how long you've been blogging, you can always grow and learn something new.  In addition to learning, Blogalicious is just a lot of fun!  Being around hundreds of other bloggers who get it is an amazing feeling and I already know from previous experience that it's going to be extremely difficult to return to the 9 to 5 after the conference.  But Read More ...

Cities tee (c/o Marshalls) | Michael Kors skirt (c/o Marshalls) | Black heels (Nine West/DSW)   Hello, Fall!  Towards the end of Summer, I began to make a list of my Fall Must-Haves and at the top of my list was a new Travel/Work/Blogger bag.  I needed a bag that would hold all of my technology, reading material, journal and pen, and snacks.  I needed a bag that would be sturdy and not break after a couple of carries (I tend to carry a lot in a bag).  Most important, I needed a bag with style.  Enter Marshalls – literally and figuratively.  So, Marshalls sent me my first Project Fab Challenge that Read More ...

Russell Wilson Featured In GQ Magazine (September 2013)

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is featured in the style section of the September issue of GQ magazine.  Here are a few things from the interview that stood out: His teammates mock him for his affordable suits.  His response?  "When you're a rookie and you're a third-round pick, you've got to be smart with your money.  I'd rather wear a hundred-dollar suit than go bankrupt."  [To which I say, if the suit looks good, look good on him, and doesn't look cheap, leave the man alone.] Russell used to bite people until about sixth grade. [Oh, you were that kid.] He's spent no time thinking about the loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Read More ...

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram (@BlitzAndGlam), then you already know how much I love shopping at Marshalls.  I love to shop in general, but specifically, I love finding a fabulous deal, and Marshalls is all about fabulous deals.  I swing by at least once a week to see what's new, so you can imagine my excitement when Marshalls selected me to be a part of Project FAB!  Marshalls gifted me a $100 Marshalls gift card so I can show how I incorporate pieces from Marshalls into my personal style! Mission ACCEPTED!     This past Saturday afternoon, I headed out to my favorite Charlotte area Marshalls.  The first thing Read More ...

Go Someplace You’ve Never Been Before

I love and want to live by this quote.  I love to pack my bags and head out of town and I think it's time to travel to more places that I've never been (last year I traveled to three places that I'd never been, Connecticut, Boston, and Detroit).  Right now, I have 4 places on my travel list and with two roundtrip flights courtesy of Southwest that I must use in the next year (and I've vowed to use them to go places that I've never been), I think I can knock a couple off soon.  So, here's where I want to go (more places will be added to the list):       I've been thinking Read More ...
