Chambray Dress (Target) | Belt (H&M) | Heels (ShoeDazzle) | Bag (Marshalls)  Bracelets (The Limited) | Necklace (Old Navy) | Earrings (Old Navy)   Everyone should take a little time to have lunch with their girlfriends.  Whether it's a group of sisters or close girlfriends, you need that girl time to catch up on the happenings in each other's lives.  Two of my closest girlfriends live in different cities and states – one in Birmingham, Alabama and the other in Atlanta, Georgia – so we have to make an effort to not just have lunch, but usually to have a girls' weekend.  Or a special, mid-week Beyonce-and-Jay-Z-are-in-concert-in-Atlanta-and-we-bought-tickets-as-soon-as-they-went-on-sale overnight trip.     This chambray shirt dress from Target Read More ...

Post image for Dr. Travis Stork For Crest Pro-Health

Saturday I had the opportunity to attend the Shape Magazine Diva Dash at Riverbend Farm in Midland, NC.  Thanks to Crest and Crest Pro-Health I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Dr. Travis Stork from the TV Show The Doctors.  Dr. Stork has partnered with Crest to discuss how oral care is an important part of your overall health.  So, I sat down with Dr. Stork to ask him a few questions about oral care and the new Crest Pro-Health Tartar Protection.   As a person with diabetes, can you tell me the importance of good oral care for people with the disease?   Although we're still learning how Read More ...

Post image for Keynote Speaker – Art Institute of Charlotte Keep Calm & Blog On Conference

I had the honor of being the keynote speaker at the Art Institute of Charlotte's Keep Calm & Blog On Conference Monday evening.  It was an absolute honor to be there speaking to the conference attendees.  As I told them, I was thrilled when I was asked to be the keynote speaker, because it means that someone thinks that I have done enough things right in my blogging career to go there and impart knowledge on them.  I also shared with the conference attendees that at the beginning of the year I wrote a blog post about my goals for 2014 and one of those goals was to speak at a blogging Read More ...

Project Fab – My Vision for 2014

I've stated previously that I don't really make New Year's resolutions.  I just reassess my goals and vision and figure out what I accomplished the previous year and which goals I want to accomplish in the New Year.  I like to create a vision board as a visual reminder of the things that I want to do - land the job that I will truly enjoy (time to make my exit from the legal field?), make sure my health stays on track (#diabeticproblems), and do more of the things that make me happy.  I put places I want to go - New Orleans for a Saints home game is high on the list this Read More ...

New Year, New Goals

2014,January 1

Happy 2014!  There's nothing like the beginning of a new year to make you take stock of your life and want to make some changes.  I don't make New Year's Resolutions, but I do sometimes reevaluate my goals in my personal life and blogging life.  I don't want to say, "I will work out at least 5 days a week" because (a) I know this would not happen every week and I don't want to feel bad for not having time to work out 5 days a week; and (b) this is a lifestyle change that would not have a finite end.  I like to set goals that I can Read More ...

How awesome is this?  A fan recently sent a wedding invitation to Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.  Well, Peyton checked "Regretfully Decline," wrote "Best Wishes," and autographed it adding "18."  I don't think anyone can top this wedding gift!  Hmm…I wonder what would happen if I send Drew Brees an invitation to my next birthday party?

#Blogalicious5 Recap

Thumbnail image for #Blogalicious5 Recap

Could you tell from my tweets and photos on Instagram that I had a great time at Blogalicious?  From the sessions and speakers to the Scandal party (I was too tired to make the McDonald's party unfortunately) to meeting other bloggers to hanging out with old blogger friends, it was everything that I needed at this moment in my blogging career.  The biggest takeaway from the conference for me didn't come from any one speaker or session.  It came from the entire experience.  And what is that takeaway, you ask?  I'll tell you – my blog has grown and I have grown as a blogger.  Wow.  I know, I know. Blogalicious 5 in Atlanta!

2013,October 2
Thumbnail image for Blogalicious 5 in Atlanta!

I'm currently packing for my trip to Atlanta for Blogalicious 5!  I'm so excited, because I missed Blogalicious last year in Las Vegas.  This will be my 3rd Blogalicious, so I feel like a pro/vet.  Regardless, I'm always pumped to get what I call "Continuing Blogger Education."  No matter how long you've been blogging, you can always grow and learn something new.  In addition to learning, Blogalicious is just a lot of fun!  Being around hundreds of other bloggers who get it is an amazing feeling and I already know from previous experience that it's going to be extremely difficult to return to the 9 to 5 after the conference.  But Read More ...
