Game Day Glam – Super Bowl Edition

This is the Super Bowl Edition of Game Day Glam!  This post is about jeans, but it isn't about just any jeans (although I do LOVE jeans).  I'm featuring jeans that represent the two Super Bowl teams--blue for the New York Giants and red for the New England Patriots.  Colored jeans are an easy way to add your team's colors into your game day look.  I'm not necessarily a fan of either team, but I LOVE these jeans, and if I decide to head out for a Super Bowl party, I will likely throw on a pair of these jeans.  I wore a black shirt and sweater and black heels because I wanted to highlight the jeans in these pictures, but I suggest using colored denim to...

Super Bowl In Style – Travel Chic

The Super Bowl matchup is set!  The New York Giants and the New England Patriots will face-off in Indianapolis for Super Bowl XLVI on February 5.  Are you traveling to Indy for Super Bowl week festivities and/or are you actually attending the game?  Unfortunately, this year I will not be attending Super Bowl week festivities like I did last year (unless a brand wants to send me to Indy, then I'm there), but I didn't want to leave those of you who are without a little travel and styling advice.  Packing Super Bowl week the temperature will range from a low of 14 degrees to a high of 59 degrees.  My advice is to not let that high fool you.  I imagine...

Super Bowl In Style – Blitz And Glam Does Dallas (Sunday)

Sunday was my last full day in Dallas.  Sunday was also Super Bowl Sunday.  I spent the morning and early afternoon lounging and figuring out where we would watch the big game.  After searching the internet, we decided to go to a place called Mr. Bigs Vegas Style Sports Bar in Dallas.  We were lured in by the all-you-can-eat soul food that was included in the price at the door, as well as the 60 flat screen TVs which would guarantee that we would not miss a play (I won't talk about the TV directly in front of us that kept going out right at key moments during the game).  The fact that this video made us crack up was another point in...

Super Bowl In Style – Blitz And Glam Does Dallas (Saturday)

By Saturday the weather was much better (I was even able to ditch my coat for the afternoon).  I spent the day at the ESPN Next Event at River Ranch at Fort Worth Stockyards.  My main reason for going was to check out the latest styles from Meesh & Mia, a company which specializes in collegiate apparel.  I was pleasantly surprised when I ran into Baltimore Ravens Ray Rice (again) and WWE's John Cena (I will now be tuning in to WWE on Monday nights).  However, the highlight was seeing 3 NFL legends (WOW!) on stage together for a panel discussion.       WWE's John Cena   Kurt Warner   Joe Montana   Doug Williams    Me on a (fake) bull   Me on the cover of ESPN Magazine    TCU Students showing off the latest Meesh...

Super Bowl In Style -Blitz And Glam Does Dallas (Friday)

Friday morning I woke up to see that not only did it snow throughout the night, but that it was still snowing Friday morning.  I think heard that Dallas got about 5 inches of snow.  I knew that the roads would be a little better because the snow would add traction on top of the ice, so driving was a little easier.  As the day went on it warmed up a little and the snow started to melt, which unfortunately meant that it would refreeze and make the roads treacherous again by nightfall.  I had an event to attend that afternoon, so once again, I was not going to let the snow and ice stop me.  Friday afternoon I headed to...

Off The Field Super Bowl XLV Fashion Show

The ladies of Off The Field (OTF), the NFL Wives Association, held their 10th Annual Players Wives Fashion Show in Dallas on February 4, 2011, during Super Bowl XLV Week.  Members of OTF walked the runway wearing designs by Abi Ferrin, an award winning Dallas-based designer.  I did not attend the Fashion Show, but thanks to LaTonya Watkins for sharing this video from the Fashion Show at You + Dallas!     The Fashion Show benefited St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Stay tuned for more sights and sounds that I captured during my trip to Dallas for Super Bowl Week!  Check out Super Bowl In Style - Blitz And Glam Does Dallas (Thursday) for a recap of my first day in Dallas.   (Image/Off The Field) ...

Super Bowl In Style – Blitz And Glam Does Dallas (Thursday)

I'm back from Dallas and I had a great time while I was there!  Although I didn't attend the game, I did attend several fun Super Bowl related events.  The trip started off a little shaky, because a couple of days before I got there Dallas was hit with snow and ice.  By the time I got there Thursday, there was still plenty of ice on the roads to make driving difficult and I don't think Dallas was at all prepared for that kind of weather.  It didn't look like they had done anything to the roads to make the driving conditions better, but I didn't let that stop me.  After all, I went to Dallas to attend events, network, meet...

Super Bowl In Style – Corporate/Charity Event

There will be tons of parties going on in Dallas during Super Bowl week, but there will also be plenty of opportunities to network and to give back to the community.  Have you been invited to a corporate event?  Are you attending a charity luncheon or brunch?  Not only do you want to make sure that you are appropriately dressed for the occasion, but you want to make sure that you're prepared to network and make lasting connections.  Here are a few tips to help you out:   Take your business cards.  Don't have any?  Get some made.  You will meet a lot of people so you need to be prepared. Have a specific place in your handbag for your business cards so that...
