Post image for My POV: 2012 NFL Draft – Carolina Panthers Draft Party

Last night kicked off the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft!  This has to be one of the most exciting football events each year.  Just like last year, I spent Draft Day (night) at the Carolina Panthers Draft Party at Bank of America Stadium.  The crowd wasn't nearly as large as last year, which is understandable.  Last year, the Panthers had the number 1 pick and everyone was expecting that they would select Cam Newton, so Panthers fans came out in droves to cheer for their new star quarterback.  This year, the Panthers had the 9th pick (plus it looked like it would rain.  I almost didn't go because of the potential storm, Read More ...

I always try to get pictures of the stadium or dome for each game that I attend, as well as pictures from my point of view.  I immediately noticed the architecture of the stadium at LP Field.  The end zones do not have upper level seating, only the first level seating, which leaves the stadium with a very open feel to it.      Before entering LP Field, each person has to go through security as you do at all stadiums and domes.  However, there is one thing that you must do here that I've never encountered anywhere else–if you're carrying a bag, you must place it inside of a box Read More ...

Post image for My POV: Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons

Yesterday, I made the trip to Atlanta to see the Falcons take on the Carolina Panthers courtesy of Visa.  I follow @VisaNFL on Twitter and realized last week that each Monday Visa gives away a pair of tickets to every regular season home game.  You can enter each Monday by following @VisaNFL and tweeting "#GoFans" with the official hashtag of the home team's city found in their official rules each week.  Well, when I saw the tweet that the giveaway was open, I simply tweeted "@VisaNFL #GoFans #ATL" and that was it.  The next morning I awoke to a direct message from them stating that I had won!  My tickets arrived 2 Read More ...

Post image for My POV: New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers

This past weekend I hosted 9 old friends, new friends, readers, and followers, as well as my sister for a weekend of fun and football.  A few drove from across town to attend the game with me, while others traveled from Maryland, Georgia, and Alabama (and one who lives in Charlotte actually drove back home from New Jersey just in time for the game).  By Sunday, everyone was ready to see the Carolina Panthers take on division rival New Orleans Saints.  The game was fun and exciting and kept us on the edge of our seats, but luckily, my Saints pulled out the victory over the Panthers.   After the game we had Read More ...

My POV: Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers At Carolina Panthers

The first half of the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers game was an exciting one for Panthers fans, because Cam Newton was on fire!  The Packers did not look like the same Super Bowl Champion team that we saw in the opening week of the season against the New Orleans Saints.   Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense spent most of the first quarter on the sideline.    Packers safety Nick Collins was injured in the fourth quarter while trying to tackle Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart and had to be carried off the field on a stretcher.  It's always scary to see a player down, especially when they aren't moving.  Read More ...
