Post image for The Look For Less – Ivory Handbag

I was shooting with my photographer, Lindsay, recently and she said, "You have the best handbags." That compliment made me realize how handbags have become my thing.  I think I go through phases with clothes and accessories.  At one point I was all about cardigans. Don't get me wrong, I still love cardigans.  They are great for the spring and summer when you don't need a jacket or coat, but want something to cover your arms (they are also great for cold offices).  Then I was all about belts.  Now, it's handbags and I really want an ivory handbag because it's perfect to carry all year long (don't believe the "you Read More ...

Post image for The Look For Less – Multi-Color Print Dress

I don't know about where you live, but the weather here in Charlotte has been a tease.  One day it's a warm 70 degrees and the next it's a bitterly cold 32 degrees.  The warm days have my mind stuck on spring temperatures and thus, spring fashion.  Recently, I came across a beautiful multi-color print dress on a blog and now I'm on the hunt for some multi-color dresses and skirts.  The dress on the blog is quite pricey; way more than I'm willing to spend, so I challenged myself to find the look for less (Side note: When I was studying for the bar exam, The Look For Less was a Read More ...

Post image for What I Wore – It’s Not All Black And White

Black Sweater (Banana Republic) | White Jeans (Target) | Pink Tote (Marshalls) Black Boots (Nine West/DSW) | Gold Necklace (Target)   I teased via Instagram (BlitzAndGlam) a couple of weeks ago that these neon totes at Marshalls were giving me spring fever.  I simply could not leave the store without one.  This tote is definitely a quick fix for these cold, dreary, winter days.  And this sweater.  You thought it was just a plain, black sweater.  It's not.  Much like these jeans.     I sometimes have some other random stuff to say, so I decided to start shooting short videos where I can talk about those things.  Here's the first video with Read More ...

Project Fab – Cooking For One

As someone who is diabetic, I decided that it is time for me to take even more control of my health by watching what I eat even more closely.  I make a habit of keeping a mental note of the amount of carbs, sodium, and fat that I eat.  One way to take better control is by cooking more. Yes, I am going to tie on an apron and sharpen my cooking skills.  So, I headed to Marshalls to see if I could find some cookware that would get me excited about cooking.  Mission accomplished.  I scored 5 matching pieces of Cuisinart cookware plus some cooking utensils.  (Can I be Read More ...

Pleated skirt (The Limited) | Black v-neck sweater (The Limited) | White button-down shirt (Gap) Black tights (Marshalls) | Black knee boots (DSW/Nine West)   *Cues Britney Spears* "Oh, baby baby…"  Yes, yes, yes.  I admit that I love me some Britney Spears and I love a good schoolgirl look.  I wore this to Belk at SouthPark Mall for their Spring '14 Fashion Preview (and then later to work).  Everything I wore is old, except the tights and boots are new-ish (bought in the last few months).  But since I got a lot of great compliments on this look, I decided to post it and create a similar look in case you're interested Read More ...

Michael Kors Dress (c/o Marshalls) | Heels (BCBG Paris/DSW) | Necklace (Target)   Over the last several weeks I've told you some of my latest obsessions – blue, gold, leather, and now, sequins.  When I saw this Michael Kors dress at Marshalls last month, I grabbed it right up and headed to the fitting room (if you follow me on Instagram at BlitzAndGlam, then you remember when I posted my fitting room picture).  I had immediate thoughts of New Year's Eve – this dress would be perfect for a glam night out on the town.     This year has been a great year for Blitz And Glam.  From working with brands such Read More ...

Last year I decided that I want to go somewhere new at least once a year.  Last year I went to 3 new places – Hartford, Boston, and Detroit. This year I visited Las Vegas, San Francisco, and San Jose.     Las Vegas on a Budget – An infographic by the team at Marriott Las Vegas Hotels   Now that 2013 is winding down, I'm beginning to think about where I want to go in 2014.  Do I want to visit a big city or a small, charming town?  Do I want to travel to a city in the U.S. or travel abroad?  Do I want to travel for Read More ...

Thumbnail image for Chip & Pepper Denim Event At Belk

If you didn't make it out to the Belk Chip & Pepper Denim event Friday, you missed out!  It was so much fun!  Chip & Pepper are two balls of energy and are passionate about their products.  Pepper personally helped me pick out jeans and was committed to finding jeans that worked for me.  I had never tried Chip & Pepper jeans before Friday evening, but now I'm a fan.  For real.  I feel like these jeans were made for my body and I think Pepper agreed.  He kept parading me around to show off the jeans I tried on.  What's even better than the fit is the price.  All Read More ...
