Black and White Dress (Max and Cleo/Belk – old) :: Black Heels (David Tutera c/o Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse) Black Clutch (Dillards – old) :: Necklace (Target) :: Earrings (Tiffany & Co.)   Spring is usually the time for many special occasions, mainly proms, graduations, and weddings.  In April, I attended two special occasions – my friend Rebecca's wedding in Raleigh and The Garner Agency's Charlotte Fab 50 event at Bubble at the Epicentre.  I thought about buying something new to wear to the wedding, but decided to shop my closet instead.  Great idea, Tamara (I don't normally talk to myself.  I promise.)!  I had this black and white dress in Read More ...

I was shooting with my photographer, Lindsay, recently and she said, "You have the best handbags." That compliment made me realize how handbags have become my thing.  I think I go through phases with clothes and accessories.  At one point I was all about cardigans. Don't get me wrong, I still love cardigans.  They are great for the spring and summer when you don't need a jacket or coat, but want something to cover your arms (they are also great for cold offices).  Then I was all about belts.  Now, it's handbags and I really want an ivory handbag because it's perfect to carry all year long (don't believe the "you Read More ...

I don't know about where you live, but the weather here in Charlotte has been a tease.  One day it's a warm 70 degrees and the next it's a bitterly cold 32 degrees.  The warm days have my mind stuck on spring temperatures and thus, spring fashion.  Recently, I came across a beautiful multi-color print dress on a blog and now I'm on the hunt for some multi-color dresses and skirts.  The dress on the blog is quite pricey; way more than I'm willing to spend, so I challenged myself to find the look for less (Side note: When I was studying for the bar exam, The Look For Less was a Read More ...

What I Wore – It’s Not All Black And White

Black Sweater (Banana Republic) | White Jeans (Target) | Pink Tote (Marshalls) Black Boots (Nine West/DSW) | Gold Necklace (Target)   I teased via Instagram (BlitzAndGlam) a couple of weeks ago that these neon totes at Marshalls were giving me spring fever.  I simply could not leave the store without one.  This tote is definitely a quick fix for these cold, dreary, winter days.  And this sweater.  You thought it was just a plain, black sweater.  It's not.  Much like these jeans.     I sometimes have some other random stuff to say, so I decided to start shooting short videos where I can talk about those things.  Here's the first video with Read More ...

Project Fab – Cooking For One

Thumbnail image for Project Fab – Cooking For One

As someone who is diabetic, I decided that it is time for me to take even more control of my health by watching what I eat even more closely.  I make a habit of keeping a mental note of the amount of carbs, sodium, and fat that I eat.  One way to take better control is by cooking more. Yes, I am going to tie on an apron and sharpen my cooking skills.  So, I headed to Marshalls to see if I could find some cookware that would get me excited about cooking.  Mission accomplished.  I scored 5 matching pieces of Cuisinart cookware plus some cooking utensils.  (Can I be Read More ...
