Here's a look at this past week:
Went to church. Walked to the grocery store. Watched Orange Is The New Black (snooze). Continued discussion with friends about OJ: Made In America. He did it.
Walked to downtown Banana Republic after work and snagged this $98 dress that I've had my eye on for only $14! Check out their sale before it ends (extra 50% off sale items). Here's my Banana Republic shopping tip: shop online, find pieces you like, reserve them in-store if available. Oftentimes the same pieces online are marked down even more in-store. Such as this dress. If I had ordered it online, it would have been $30 plus shipping. Some other pieces that I have my eye on: this blouse, these sandals, and this dress.
Walked to Dolcezza at City Center with my friend A (who is completely social media free so I won't put her on blast here). Bought a milk chocolate gelato push-pop.
Joined one of my new favorite events, Walk With Locals, for a walk around Georgetown Waterfront Park and part of Georgetown. Love the energy of this group and exploring different parts of DC while documenting it with our cameras (and no, you don't have to be a photographer nor do you have to have a fancy camera to join these walks. Just bring your camera phone and/or have fun exploring an area of DC. And don't worry about not knowing anyone. You'll make new friends.)
Walked with A to the White House Farmers Market for crawfish and grits (she had shrimp and grits) from Puddin' food truck.
Went to the dentist for a crown. Went to the hair salon (have I ever shared that my hair is in transition from relaxed to natural? It will be 1 year since my last relaxer on July 2. If I cut the rest of my relaxed hair off now, it would be between a pixie and a bob).
Brunch with E, H, and T (all also social media-less) at Georgia Brown's. Met E and H 12 years ago when we were law clerks after taking the Maryland bar exam. Been friends ever since. A few months ago we decided to start having brunch once a month.
Went to Black Card Revoked Live (played like an 8-player game of Jeopardy) with Emma at Anacostia Arts Center hosted by Nubian Hueman. So much fun. Will definitely be purchasing the cards/game. Afterwards, Emma and I met A at Mulebone for dinner. Ran into another new friend, Tamon.
Tell me something you did last week.
