Early Saturday morning I met up with my church's photography group (which I'm a part of) at the Jefferson Memorial to photograph the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin. It was peak weekend for the cherry blossoms so it was bound to get crowded. Well, I didn't expect to see as many photographers and other people out that early, but by sunrise, it was already pretty crowded. It can get difficult to get clean shots when people keep walking into your frame to get their own photos and selfies, but thankfully, I was able to get quite a few good shots (this was my first time shooting at sunrise). Did I mention how cold it was out there at that time? It was freezing! Many times we would have to stop shooting to put our hands in our coats pockets to unfreeze them (a few even ditched us early because of the cold). If you're close enough to visit, be sure to do it soon, as I'm told the cherry blossoms will probably only last about 2 weeks from bloom depending on the weather.
I hope you had a great Easter weekend!
