My style has been described as preppy or classic with a twist. I tend to go for classic pieces, but I sometimes mix them with something edgy or trendy. This jacket is a good example of that twist. A trench coat is a classic piece. You'll never hear anyone say that a trench is out of style. If you want to stay super classic, you'll go for a neutral color – black (which I have), white, tan, or maybe even navy. If you want to add a twist, you go bold like this orange Sam Edelman trench jacket that I scored on clearance at Marshalls for $48 (the compare at price was $120!).
A trench coat is so necessary for this time of year when the weather can't make up its mind. One minute it's sunny and 75 degrees. The next it's a cool 50 degrees and before you know it, it's raining. This jacket will be perfect for spring, especially with tangerine being one of the Pantone colors for Spring 2015 (see my other recent "orange" purchase from Marshalls).
