Keke Palmer Quincy Brotherly Love Cast

Sunday, March 1, I had the opportunity to work the Red Carpet at the VIP Screening of Brotherly Love starring Keke Palmer, Quincy Brown, Romeo Miller, Cory Hardrict, Macy Gray, and more.  Lead stars Keke Palmer and Quincy Brown walked the red carpet prior to the screening of the movie and held a question and answer session immediately following the movie.  Romeo Miller was scheduled to attend, but had a dental emergency related to recently removed wisdom teeth.  Cast member Chris Jarell was also in attendance.

Home Depot's Retool Your School initiative sponsored the screening, which was held in Charlotte at Studio Movie Grill at the Epicentre.  Retool Your School is a grant program in its sixth year that will award three $50,000 grants for campus improvements to 3 Historically Black Colleges & Universities.

So, what's Brotherly Love about?  Living in Philadelphia, Jackie (Keke Palmer) and Sergio Taylor (Eric D. Hill, Jr.) are the younger siblings of June (Cory Hardrict), who has stepped into the father figure role after the death of their father.  June hustles to support their family and has earned a reputation in the streets.  Tension is on the rise between the Hills and the Bottom and while June is caught up in the middle of it, he tries to keep Keke, an aspiring singer, and Sergio, the school basketball star, out of harm's way.  When a schoolmate starts pursuing Jackie that becomes more difficult.

Brotherly Love, a solid movie with a good storyline, will have you laughing one minute and gasping the next.  This movie is worth the price of a movie ticket and a bucket of popcorn, so head to the theaters April 24 to check it out.
