It's that time of year when it's all about layers – sweaters, jackets, scarves, gloves, and hats. I was feeling very Thanksgiving-y on Thanksgiving Day in my new Coach scarf from Marshalls. So, what do you do when you're feeling Thanksgiving-y? You do an impromptu Thanksgiving Day photo shoot.
I'd been wanting a more casual jacket for when it's not cold enough for my heavier coats, but not warm enough for my lighter jackets. It actually was a little cooler out than I thought and guess what? This Tommy Hilfiger quilted jacket from Marshalls kept me warmer than I expected.
I'm so into flirty skirts and dresses right now. It's become my look, so when I saw this Michael Kors skirt at Marshalls, I snatched it right up and made my way to the fitting room. I tried it on with this jacket. Wearing them together (in addition to the affordable prices) made it a no-brainer. Both pieces were going home with me.
Now these mitten gloves. If you know me, then you know that my phone is glued to my hands. Fingerless gloves are a must on cold weather days. The great thing about these Steve Madden gloves is that they have a mitten cover, so when I'm not using my phone, I can cover my fingers with the mitten. Ever better than that? The mittens have sequins. The tag on the mitten gloves said "black," but I've convinced myself that they are actually navy. Don't they look navy to you?
I completed my look with a brown argyle sweater and brown boots to bring out the brown in the jacket. You'll be seeing a lot more of all of these pieces on the blog this fall and winter. Anyway, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! More than good food and holiday sales, I was just thankful to have 2 days off from work making it a 4-day weekend.
