Am I the only person who remembers a time when there seemed to be so many fashion rules? You know, like you can't wear white before Memorial Day or after Labor Day. (Don't tell anyone, but I remember a time when I used to live by that rule.) How about the rule that your shoes and handbag must match? Or no wearing pink and red together? Oh, and tell me that you remember this one – no mixing metals; you either wear all gold or all silver. What? Who came up with these rules? Well, I'm all for breaking all of those old fashion rules. In fact, I broke that last one for this look.
I scored these Guess sandals from Marshalls on a recent shopping trip. If you read my last What I Wore post, then you can tell that I'm really into strappy sandals and Marshalls has had a good selection to choose from. For $39.99 each, it was so easy to say yes to both pairs of sandals. Ok. Confession. I actually bought three pairs of shoes so stay tuned to see the third pair.
Funny story about this look. I intended to wear the scarf around my neck, but when I was getting dress I draped it over my shoulders and completely forgot. Guess what? That's the beauty of scarves – this look works too. Many thanks to Shawlsmith London for this gorgeous scarf. I didn't own any scarves, but I had been wanting to try the look. Now, I want to try several of these looks. I'm sure you will see this scarf worn other ways in future posts. What are some old fashion rules that you break? Also, what's your favorite way to wear a scarf?
