If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram (if you don't, you need to – @BlitzAndGlam), then you know that I was recently asked to be a Toyota Corolla Influencer! Toyota wanted to send me a 2014 Toyota Corolla to test drive for a weekend. Well, since Blogalicious was coming up, I suggested that that would be the perfect weekend to take it for a spin and they agreed. They shipped a brand new Corolla to one of the local dealerships, sent me a gift card loaded with money for food, gas, and fun; and told me to hit the road to Atlanta for #Blogalicious5. Knowing that I would be driving the Corolla had me even more excited about the trip, because who doesn't love driving a new car?
So, Wednesday evening, I went to Town & Country Toyota and met with Kevin who showed me all the bells and whistles that come with the new Corolla. This Corolla was much more than I expected!
I tend to overpack so I was interested to see how all of my bags would fit in the trunk. Not only did my bags fit in easily, but there was still pleny of room left, which was good because I always leave Blogalicious with tons of swag. (And as someone who has made many moves and hauled a lot of stuff in my car, trunk space is important.) The spaciousness of the trunk made my luggage look so small. It's not. The trunk is just that big.
After I loaded up the car and grabbed breakfast, I hit the road headed to Atlanta. It didn't take me long to decide on my favorite features of the 2014 Toyota Corolla. First, the Corolla comes with 36 radio presets. 36! I LOVE this, because I like to keep my favorite stations in different cities and states (Charlotte, Atlanta, DC, Baltimore, Huntsville, Birmingham) saved as presets so they are easy to find when I take road trips. Speaking of the radio, the 2014 Toyota Corolla comes with a display screen for the radio, your Bluetooth-connected phone (it shows your contacts and your call history on the screen), and…(wait for it)…a rear camera! Yes, the rear camera is my favorite new feature of the Corolla. Whenever you put the car in reverse, the screen automatically switches over to the rear camera view so you can see what's behind you. It took me a few times to get used to it, but by the end of the trip I was hooked on using it. It's very helpful to me, because I like to back into parking spaces and always think that I'm about to hit the wall or car behind only to get out and see that I didn't back in far enough. The camera was great in helping me tell how much space I had before I would hit the wall.
On top of all of that, the 2014 Toyota Corolla gets great gas mileage! If you're looking for a good car with some cool and fun features, but don't want to break the bank to buy it, then check out the 2014 Toyota Corolla and #UnexpectEverything.
