When my Dad asked me and my sister if we wanted to go to Las Vegas with him, the response was an immediate YES. First, the three of don't get to spend as much time together as we would like. Second, I didn't have a chance to getaway this summer, so I was long overdue for a long weekend out of town. Third, believe it or not, I had never been to Vegas, so I was excited to check it off my list.
We stayed at Treasure Island on The Strip, which I give two thumbs up. Our rooms were very nice and we had a great view. It's also right in the heart of everything that's going on. Need your Starbucks coffee fix? There's one located right at the beginning of the driveway. Need to pick up a few toiletries that you left at home or like me, catch a cold and need some medicine? There's a Walgreens directly across the street. Got a 2 a.m. itch to hit the slot machines? Just run downstairs to the casino. Want to catch a Cirque du Soleil show? Mystere is currently running at Treasure Island. And most importantly, want to do some shopping? Fashion Show mall is (kind of) attached to Treasure Island!
This trip was just long enough for Vegas. I got to do some eating, some gambling, some shopping, and some partying. My sister had some friends in town celebrating a birthday and my friend Dawn was in town celebrating her sister's birthday. It was great hanging out with her, her sisters, cousins, and friends at Body English at Hard Rock (until we got put out of our VIP area because they said we weren't ordering enough drinks, even though we had a $0 minimum for our table and Dawn had already generously spent plenty of money on the group).
This photo above cracks me up every time I look at it. Hilarious! On my way out of town, I had the pleasure of going through security with Johnny Knoxville and his wife (who is gorgeous). He was very nice and personable. I asked him for a photo and his response was, "For a beautiful girl like you, yes. I was a Broncos fan, but you just made me a Saints fan." Ha! Such a flirt. And yes, he is as good-looking in person as he is on TV and in movies.
Thanks to my Dad for a great weekend getaway in Las Vegas!
