Atlanta Bound – Vernon Davis/MCD Fundraiser + Style Bloggers of Color Conference

This weekend I will be hitting the road for Atlanta.  I remember a time after I moved from Atlanta to Charlotte when I was in Atlanta every other weekend.  Believe it or not, it's been 3 months since I've been back.  This weekend is going to be jam-packed with relaxation (seems contradictory, right?), art and fashion, and blogging inspiration.  Saturday I will be catching up with one of my good friends, Shana, and we'll be heading to the spa for some much needed pampering.  Facials?  Check.  Massages?  Yes, please.  It's been way too long since I've had a facial and months since I've had a massage, so I will be enjoying every minute of this spa day.  Then later that evening (after a nap, I'm sure), I will be heading to the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) for an art, fashion, and design event hosted by San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis and Modern Class Design, the interior design company founded by Davis and his business partner Antone Barnes.

Proceeds from the event will help fund the attendance of inner city students at the art focused Camp MODA. Emerging designers from local Atlanta high schools and colleges such as Savannah College of Art and Design and the Portfolio School will be in attendance participating in MCD’s Interior Design Competition. Talented designers will be awarded cash prizes and/or internships with Vernon Davis’ Modern Class Design.

If you're interested in attending this fundraising event, MODA is located at 1315 Peachtree Street NE and tickets are $50 for general admission and $75 for VIP.

The event is cocktail attire, but I haven't yet decided exactly what I will be wearing, but I have narrowed it to a few options.  Check back next week to see What I Wore.

And Sunday, before I head back to Charlotte, I will be attending the last event during the Style Bloggers of Color Conference hosted by SBOC founder (and one of my blogger friends) Mattie James of Mattieologie.  Sunday is the SBOC Awards Luncheon with keynote speaker Claire Sulmers of The Fashion Bomb.  I haven't seen Mattie since last summer, so I'm excited to catch up with her and to meet some of my favorite blogging buddies whom I haven't met in real life yet.  Follow me on Twitter (@BlitzAndGlam) and on Instagram (BlitzAndGlam) for updates throughout the weekend.  Let me know if you'll be attending either event this weekend!
