After much anticipation, Nike finally unveiled the new NFL uniforms Tuesday in NYC. The only uniform to receive a big makeover is the Seattle Seahawks uniforms.
Neon green is hard to pull off and it doesn't work as well against the grey, but it completely works against the darker blue. I wish Nike had paired the dark blue pants with a dark blue jersey, because the neon green would REALLY pop (think Oregon Ducks uniforms). What did Nike say about the new Seahawks uniforms?
The new uniform colors are rooted in Seattle's own environmental hues—the deep blue of the ocean water that tucks into the harbor near downtown and the Seahawks' stadium. The new color addition called Action Green represents the green of the ubiquitous trees, ferns and moss literally covering the Pacific Northwest landscape.
The main difference with the new uniforms for all teams is the technology behind the uniforms. Nike made these uniforms lighter, cooler, drier, more stretchy, and more flexible, which is great for the players.
For the fans (and probably for the players too), the coolest new feature of the Nike unis is the gloves. If you're a college football fan, you've probably seen the logo gloves. Well, now every NFL team will have these gloves with their team's logo.
Regardless of which team you're rooting for, you must admit that all of these gloves are hot, but how long will it be before we get tired of seeing players flash the logo in the cameras?
