Last week, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton sat courtside at a couple of Charlotte Bobcats games. Monday, December 26, Cam was spotted sitting courtside next to Michael Jordan when the Bobcats took on the Milwaukee Bucks. My first thought was "what did Cam Newton wear?" From the picture above, it looks like he wore a light grey zip-up hoodie, a light grey and white stripped shirt, and a white Bobcats cap. The look was ok. Just ok. Not bad, but not great. To me it looks like, he just threw this on after practice and decided to go to the game. It has a very sporty and comfortable feel to it, which isn't bad, but I think he can do this look better. (I won't get into MJ's look, but I agree with my girl, Jill.) Using this picture, I decided to remix his look. I wanted to be sure to stick with the look and feel that he was going for, comfortable and sporty, to make it a legitimate option for him.
(1) Shirt — He wore strips, so I stuck with stripes. It looks like a comfortable cotton shirt, but to step it up just a tad, I went with a cotton, collared Polo shirt. It's still comfortable, but a collar makes it more polished.
(2) Sweater — Above he went with a zippered hoodie, which really makes it a very casual and less pulled together look. Instead, I think that he should go with the half-zip henley. I like this particular henley for him because the front pockets are very similar to those that you would find on a hoodie, so it still has that sporty feel.
(3) Jeans — I generally like to pair dark denim with light grey.
(4) Shoes — I didn't want to do anything too dressy on the feet. These sneakers are perfect because they aren't an athletic sneaker, but they are a sneaker. Comfortable? Check. Sporty? Check.
What do you think? Did I do a good job in remixing his look?
