If you are a fan of fashion, then you're probably familiar with the high fashion brand Marchesa. Well, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, the design team behind Marchesa, are in talks with the New York Jets about making women's t-shirts a part of the Jets merchandising. If you're not familiar with Marchesa, let me show you some of their pieces:
So, what has them wanting to do an NFL line, you ask? Well, Georgina's husband, movie producer Harvey Weinstein, is a huge Jets fan, so Suzanne Johnson, wife of Jet's owner Woody Johnson, reached out to Chapman with the idea. "If Marchesa puts the shirt in their show, I will make (Jets quarterback) Mark Sanchez walk that model down the runway," Johnson said. "I will beg him." What's the NFL saying about this? They haven't confirmed it, but did say, "As we look towards Year 3 of our women's apparel campaign and at new ways to expand our apparel offerings for our female fans, we are exploring a variety of opportunities." If this happens, I cannot wait to see what Marchesa does with the line.
