This year has been a great year for Blitz And Glam! I went to Dallas for Super Bowl Week (and had a great time despite the snow and ice), attended some fun events, added some new features, worked with some great brands, and interviewed some interesting people, but it doesn't stop there. I plan to bring you much more in 2012! I'm so excited about the possibilities for the new year! Before 2012 gets here, I wanted to take a look back at my 10 favorite posts from 2011, in no particular order.
Blitz And Glam's 1 Year Blogoversary! — I think it's self-explanatory as to why this made the list. I can't believe I've been at this for over a year now!
Lights, Camera, Action: Life After the NFL — I received many comments about how inspiring my interview with director and producer Matthew Cherry was and his words continue to inspire me too. I think this is a great post for all football players to read. And be on the look out for his movie, The Last Fall.
What's In My Bag? – VH1's Football Wives Dawn Neufeld — This was the very first vlog that I put on my blog and I was very excited to have Dawn share with my readers what was in her bag. I hope to post many more of these vlogs in 2012.
The Ladies of the Philadelphia Eagles — This event was a lot of fun. I had interviewed Michael Vick's fiance, Kijafa, earlier in the year and was excited when she invited me to attend her event at the Louis Vuitton store in Atlanta. Plus, as much as I love the "wives" reality shows, I love that I was able to show this group of women in a positive light. (Plus, I think this is a cute picture of me and Kijafa. *cheese*)
My POV: New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers — There's the obvious reason that I love this post – my Saints coming to town. However, this was also my very first Blitz And Glam event. I invited several friends and my sister to Charlotte to hang out and attend the game. We had a lot of fun and got to meet some of the Saints players after the game.
Super Bowl In Style Posts (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday) — This whole trip was a lot of fun. I got to hang out with one of my sorority sisters, meet some of my readers, followers and new friends, and meet a young man with good manners by the name of Cam Newton (he called me "ma'am"). I hope to do it again in Indy in 2012! I love this picture of me and Baltimore Ravens Ray Rice because in my heels I'm taller (we're probably the same height without heels).
What I Wore: Game Day Glam – Green Bay Packers at Carolina Panthers — This game was so much fun, because we had great seats, it was Cam Newton's home field debut, and they were playing the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers. Plus, this post introduced one of my new features, What I Wore.
My POV: Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons — This was another fun game because I won great seats from Visa NFL, I got to take my Mom to see Cam Newton play (she's a big Cam fan too), and I ran into more family and old friends.
Blogalicious 11 — I've said it before and I'll say it again. Blogalicious is the blogger's revival. It gives you a renewed sense of purpose and keeps you motivated towards greatness. There's so much to learn and a lot of networking to do at Blogalicious, not to mention lots of fun to be had. Whether you're new to blogging or you've been blogging for a while, you must attend at least once. I can't wait to find out where it will be next year!
What I Wore: Game Day Glam – Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans — I went to Nashville to visit my friend Christina and we attended not one, but two football games. The day before this game we went to see her Arkansas Razorbacks take on the Vanderbilt Commodores. Fun times! Plus, I really like the dress I wore.
Carolina Panthers 2011 Fan Fest [VIDEO] — This event took place near the end of training camp and it was so much fun to be surrounded by so many fans who were excited and hopeful about their team and their new superstar quarterback. The thing that made it even better was that I was given media credentials so I was able to stand on the sidelines and attend the post-practice presser. I got to meet ESPN's Rachel Nichols too and I got to stand right behind the cameraman while she interviewed Cam Newton.
Football Is Back! — After the uncertainty of whether there would even be a football season this year, we finally got word that an agreement had been reached between the NFL owners and players and that the Lockout was OVER!
Did you notice how I threw in more than 10 posts? *smile* What would you like to see me blog about in 2012? What are your favorite features that you want to see more of in the new year? I wish everyone reading this much success and many blessings in the New Year!
