October is one of my favorite times of the football season, because the NFL turns pink in support of breast cancer awareness. The NFL's campaign, "A Crucial Catch," in partnership with the American Cancer Society, is focused on the importance of annual screenings, especially for women who are 40 and older. Throughout the month of October you will see players, coaches, team personnel, cheerleaders, and referees sporting pink game apparel, from pink cleats to pink gloves to pink caps. All apparel worn at games by players and coaches, along with special game balls and pink coins will be auctioned off at NFL Auction (www.NFL.com/auction), with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society and team charities.
