The Ladies of the Philadelphia Eagles

Last week, Kijafa Frink, co-owner of Pnk Elephant Accessories and fiance of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, reached out to invite me to an event that she was hosting in Atlanta the weekend of the Eagles and Falcons game.  I told her I would love to come and finally get a chance to meet her in person (notice my hand in the picture with Kijafa. Yep, my Pnk Elephant Accessories 2-finger Love Ring.).

This past Saturday, Kijafa hosted a mix and mingle at Louis Vuitton in Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta for the wives and girlfriends of the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons.  As soon as I entered I was offered water and champagne (I had both) as well as hors d'oeuvres and shown to the area reserved for our group.

As more ladies started to arrive, Kijafa was sure to introduce me and Amani Hassoun (Eagles cornerback Joselio Hanson), because we have something in common–the law.  Amani is currently in her last semester of law school and MBA program at Rutgers University.  We discussed her plans to sit for the bar exam in February and how that would mean a lot of studying during football season unfortunately.  However, if the Eagles make it to the Super Bowl expect to see Amani there cheering her team on.  Early congrats, Amani, on earning your JD/MBA and good luck on the bar exam (and deciding which state to take!).

Several of the ladies tried on different pieces from the Louis Vuitton Collection (see Kijafa and Amani's looks above) and modeled them for the group, including Jeniva Barrett (Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel).

The coat/dress and the leopard print skirt were both very cute on Jeniva, but when deciding which would be more practical, we both decided the coat/dress (we thought it was a coat, but we were told it's actually a dress and Jeniva decided that she could wear it both ways!) would be great for the Philadelphia fall and winter.  At the end of the evening when I asked which she decided to purchase, she told me that she actually ended up purchasing a clutch.  That works too as I also saw a couple of bags and clutches that would look good in my hands.

I also got a chance to chat with Taylor Brown (Eagles running back Ronnie Brown) about her move to Philadelphia two weeks ago.  She said that meeting the wives and girlfriends has definitely helped with the transition.  We also chatted about our team, the Auburn Tigers (she and Ronnie attended Auburn University), who was playing the Clemson Tigers at the same time that we were at the event.  Although we were both hoping that Auburn would pull out another win, I unfortunately updated her that they lost 38-24, ending their 17 game win streak.  Taylor also modeled pieces from the Collection for us.

A couple of other special guests joined us at the meet and mingle, including Tameka Raymond and Lisa Wu.  Both were very nice and lots of fun!  I really enjoyed meeting all of the ladies and I was sure to wish Kijafa good luck for an Eagles win over the Falcons.  Thanks for inviting me to your event!
