VH1's Football Wives star Melani Ismail graces the cover of this month's IMPACT magazine. In the interview she discusses growing up as a preacher's kid, her music, her marriage, and of course, Football Wives.
On deciding to participate in Football Wives: "I felt as if God was nudging me, but I won't go so far as to say I am positive He told me to do it, but I felt like He did. I don't regret the decision at all."
On being the "peace maker" on the show: "I knew that was the role they wanted me to play, although I think I initially missed it the first time they told me."
On how her faith played into the show: "I was not perfect by any means but He made sure I didn't misrepresent Him because that would have hurt me to know that I did something to hinder someone in terms of their faith."
On her husband Rocket Ismail's thoughts of her doing reality TV: "My husband was on board from day one, which is the only reason I agreed to do it."
On doing another reality TV show: "I would love to do a show that is more true to who I am, because it was fun to be on camera."
