BET’s The Game Season 4 Premiere

So, what did you think?  Did it live up to the hype?  Was it worth the wait?  Are you glad it's back?

Here are the important things we learned from the Season 4 premiere (if you haven't seen it yet, stop reading now!):

**********SPOILER ALERT**********

  • Derwin is the face of Nike
  • Tasha is representing Derwin
  • Jason seems to be heading for a career as an on-air sports personality
  • Melanie is still having issues with Derwin having a baby with Janay (it's been 2 years Mel.  Come on…)
  • Derwin is the San Diego Sabres franchise player
  • Malik is sleeping with the team owner's wife (played by Megan Good)
  • Melanie did not do her residency, but instead opted to just be a wife (Part of me asks, "You went through all of that and you're not practicing?!" but then the lawyer in me says, "I understand.")
  • Kelly is filming a reality TV show called Ex-Ballers Wives (as opposed to Ballers Ex-Wives…POW!)
  • Melanie's insecurity leads her to sneak and swab Derwin's son's cheek for a DNA test
  • Tee-Tee has gone from being Malik's assistant to business owner–he's selling wings from a truck
  • Melanie has a friend do the DNA test and finds out that the baby isn't Derwin's, and of course, Melanie wastes no time telling him (wait for it…)
  • Tasha is dating/sleeping with Terrence J from BET's 106 & Park (I fail to remember his character's name and fail to understand why he was the one they selected to play her cub)
  •  Jason is no longer dating Camille (On to the next one)
  •  It's two years later and Britt Brat has aged as only a child on TV can (Looks like we missed her Super Sweet Sixteen)
  • And the shocker to close out the season premiere?  The friend made a mistake at the lab and the baby really is Derwin's child (I'm a little disturbed about how Derwin's son seems to have aged appropriately over the two years that have passed, but Britt looks only a couple of years younger than the women Jason's dating…)

Did I miss anything?  What are your comments about the first episode of the new season?  What stood out to you?  What are your predictions for what happens next?

It was a little slow for me, but I'm gonna stick with it. I'm just glad it's back and I hope it's a successful run!

The whole episode was awkward and uncomfortable to me. I am a little biased though because I don't have much of a love for BET original productions. The episode seemed too comercialized if that is the appropriate word. With the numerous and often unnecessary cameos, I was just really thrown off. Also, the relationships (i.e. Derwin and Melanie) seemed way too forced and artificial.
I think I will wait till it comes out on DVD errr something…

I was disappointed with the first episode.  I think it was truly hyped and didn't live up to all the hype.  Brit came back extremely too old.  Melanie is still up to her old tricks and the fact that she doesn't even practice medicine is absurd.  It's all the same characters pretty much accept Tasha's too young boyfriend.  The fact they have Malik openly cheating with the owner's wife was another fail.  I just don't like new episodes at all.  I think they should have started where they left off.  The fast forward of their lives was not a good idea.

Melanie and Derwin don't seem like the happy newlywed couple.
