Whether you love them or hate them, you have to admit that UGG boots are everywhere. The latest celebrity to not only wear them, but endorse, them is Mr. "I Whip My Hair Back and Forth" New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady, husband of Supermodel Giselle Bundchen. Does this mean that we will see Tom sporting the ever popular boots seen mostly on young women? Not quite.
Tom will be the face of the company's men's line of casual footwear, outerwear, and accessories, starting with advertisements for UGG's fall 2011 line. The Chairman and CEO of Deckers Outdoor Corporation (the company that owns the UGG brand), Angel Martinez, said that Tom "is the ideal first endorser for the brand. He embodies the stylish casual attitude that is at the foundation of every product we make, and is as much a style icon off the field as he is a playmaker on it." Tom will also be involved in "product inspiration" for the brand. "I have worn and loved the UGG brand for a long time. This collaboration gives me an opportunity to work with a leading global brand with a great history and a true vision for the future of its men’s collection. It’s an exciting time to be part of the UGG Australia team."
Didn't know that UGG made footwear for men? Martinez told CNBC's Jim Cramer, "We have decided that we needed to just get the word out there that it's a brand for guys…give guys permission to wear UGG. And who better to give guys permission to wear UGG than…Tom Brady."
